Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP was founded in 1936 and is one of the world's leading architecture, urban design, and engineering and interior architecture firms. SOM's Arts Studio has a depth of experience and an ability to create signature projects that are aesthetically exciting, accessible, and highly functional. Most recently, the group has completed projects for the Symphony Center and Civic Opera House, both in Chicago, LG Hall in Seoul, Korea: Ravina Festival Grounds in Illinois and the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco. Other work includes conceptual designs for Avery Fisher Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, both in New York: and the San Jose Symphony Hall.
