Info

The Anger Institute was established in 1986 by Mitchell H. Messer, M.A. It is the educational arm of the Anger Clinic and is dedicated to helping people better understand anger and learn how to manage it. With its regular seminars, books and CDs, it helps people identify and correct the destructiveness of mismanaged anger. The Anger Institute's goal is to educate the public. It does not perform individual therapy-that is done by the Anger Clinic. When anger is mismanaged, it mounts out of control and explodes, often at the wrong time and for the wrong reason. The results are in the headlines: child abuse, domestic violence, suicide, homicide, mass murder and workplace anger. The perpetrator is often described as "disgruntled," "frustrated," "stressed out," or "senseless" - but never angry. The Anger Institute offers an antidote to the growing anger epidemic by teaching as many people as possible how to harness anger energy and manage it in constructive, productive ways. The Anger Institute's books, CDs, and other material provide guidelines for managing anger. Its seminars for various groups - managers, healthcare personnel, teachers, married couples, and others - focus on the role anger plays in their environments. It helps them to understand their own feelings and to help others they come in contact with manage their reactions. In doing so, they make their workplaces, their schools, and their homes more comfortable, harmonious. and productive places. Read our Managing Anger book for a happier, more fulfilled life.
