Info

Founded in 1995, Boxer Learning develops computer-based mathematics curriculum. Our curriculum features real-world problem solving, on-screen manipulations, interactive tools, and extensive assessment that increase achievement and produce learning results. Designed by seasoned teachers and correlated to state and national standards, Boxer Learning's math curriculum helps students learn-by-doing through the dynamic use of hands-on examples and problems. Boxer Learning entered the educational marketplace in November 1995 with Boxer Trigonometry. Boxer Trigonometry quickly gained industry recognition through numerous awards and notices including the 1996 and 1998 Media & Methods Awards Portfolio, 1995 Summit Creative Award, and a listing in ASCD's Only The Best. In September 1997, Boxer Learning introduced Boxer Introductory Algebra. This release included a management system that allowed instructors to track student progress, customize assignments for students, and print a variety of detailed reports. Boxer Introductory Algebra received the Curriculum Administrator's District Choice Award for 1998. Boxer Intermediate Algebra, introduced in March 1998, marked the third product in the BoxerMath series. Covering full Algebra I and Algebra II coursework, Intermediate Algebra presented several groundbreaking interactive tools. That same year Boxer Intermediate Algebra received the California Instructional Technology Clearinghouse recommendation. In September 2000, Boxer Learning introduced Boxer Geometry. Like all BoxerMath products, Boxer Geometry utilized innovative graphics and visual simulations to reinforce comprehension. This release also featured our web-based management system, The Ledger, making Boxer Geometry a powerful hybrid of CD-ROM and Internet technologies. Boxer Learning made all of its courses available over the Web in February 1999 with the launch of BoxerMath.com. This online learning environment realizes the Web's potential, bringing the interactive BoxerMath curriculum to teachers, students, and parents anytime, anywhere. In addition to BoxerMath courses, BoxerMath.com hosts a variety of curriculum enriching resources. BoxerMath.com has received recognition in the Media & Methods Awards Portfolio and was recently inducted into District Administration's "Curriculum Web Site Awards" Hall of Fame. June 2001 marked Boxer Learning's foray into elementary grades with BoxerMath: Fundamental Math. Fundamental Math builds on the same successful philosophy of the secondary products by adapting the step-by-step, self-paced instruction model for grades 3-5. Delivered over the Internet via BoxerMath.com, Fundamental Math utilizes Macromedia Flash for multi-platform compatibility, synchronized and integrated multimedia, and streaming downloads. In August 2001, Boxer Learning introduced custom subscription options to BoxerMath.com, allowing customers to purchase access to specific modules of courses. The benefits of this new structure included streamlined navigation and a targeted interface based on grade level or course selection. Also launched with this new feature was BoxerMath: Secondary Math. Available at BoxerMath.com, Secondary Math provides access to all BoxerMath secondary courses in one convenient purchase option. From the beginning, Boxer Learning has forged strategic partnerships to increase market visibility and generate sales. Current partners include AOL@SCHOOL, The Math Forum, and FamilyEducation.com. Today Boxer Learning continues to refine and expand its mathematics curriculum in response to national education trends such as the "Leave No Child Behind Act of 2001." In addition, all state mathematics learning standards are closely monitored to ensure BoxerMath correlations are up-to-date and accurate. As a result, Boxer Learning stands prepared to deliver the technology and curriculum necessary to help schools meet the demands of increased testing and tougher accountability.
