Broadband Network Services Incorporated (BNSI), headquartered in Charlottesville Virginia, is a preferred provider of Internet services for small to medium sized business customers in Central Virginia and beyond. These services include robust Internet access, hosting, and application services tailored to meet the wide ranging needs of today's enterprise. BNSI began operations in 1994 as Emergent Strategies Incorporated, an Information Technology management consulting and executive education firm. In 1995, the firm launched its Internet Service Provider operation - ESInet - concentrating on the corporate market. In April 1998, Emergent Strategies changed its name to Broadband Network Services Incorporated to reflect its new scope of operations. Through the use of its own core routers and Layer 3 switches, BNSI operates a high-availability Internet infrastructure leveraging multiple local telecommunication facility providers and Tier 1 backbone carriers. This equipment, along with diligently maintained servers for hosting and application services, is located within BNSI's Charlottesville data center.
