THURMAN, WILSON & BOUTWELL, P.A. originated in 1988 in a firm co-founded by its senior partner, W. David Thurman. The firm has engaged in private practice since that time. Samuel A. Wilson, III joined that firm in 1991 as a partner after his term as a Superior Court Judge for the State of North Carolina ended. John D. Boutwell associated with the firm in 1993, and became a partner in 1999. During its existence, THURMAN, WILSON & BOUTWELL, P.A. has provided services to a variety of clients in many different forums. The principals have focused on care of their clients, and tried to maintain a "family atmosphere" in its method of operation. The firm strives to define expectations clearly at the beginning of representation, and then to communicate meaningfully about the matter during the course of the attorney/client relationship.
