The King George IV Inn is a 200 year old (circa 1790s) Charleston Historic House. The House is named the Peter Freneau House, after a prominent Charleston journalist and co-owner of the Charleston City Gazette. Freneau was also a merchant, shipowner, and Jeffersonian politician.
