Gateway Business Bank, originally chartered as Bank of Lakewood, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gateway Bancorp, a bank holding company organized and incorporated in the State of California. The Holding Company was formed in 2001 for the purpose of acquiring Bank of Lakewood and Mission Hills Mortgage Corporation. Mission Hills Mortgage Corporation operated as a subsidiary of the Bank until they merged in October 2002. It now operates as a division of Gateway Business Bank under the name of Mission Hills Mortgage Bankers. The bank is chartered by the California Department of Financial Institutions.
