Hunter Communications was founded in 1992 providing service for local area networks, wide area networks, and everything in between. In 2000 Hunter started building an all-fiber network throughout Medford with the vision of a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) right here in rural Southern Oregon. Due to the growing needs of our customers Hunter created Core Digital Services as a separate group to provide advanced technical support and engineering solutions with the intent to be a sole source provider to businesses for all their telecommunications and networking needs. As of January 1st, 2005, Hunter Communications acquired all of Core Digital Services employees and assets in order to bring them under the umbrella and branding of Hunter Communications. Hunter continues to build Southern Oregon's only local MAN which supplies speed of light connectivity and satisfies all high bandwidth needs throughout the Rogue Valley and more recently, the Klamath Basin. With our pure fiber backbone and last mile infrastructure we connect Southern Oregon's Educational Systems, City and County Government's, Healthcare and financial, Enterprise, Small Business and home office customers who rely on dependable, commercial grade communications network. Our long-term vision has been to create an infrastructure which would not only keep Southern Oregon competitive by leveling the technical playing field, but would also stimulate local and statewide economic growth by attracting and enabling new companies and businesses to take advantage of making Oregon a choice location from which to conduct business. The ability of businesses to connect to our 100Mbps/1Gbps pure fiber backbone allows them the flexibility to remain highly competitive in today's global marketplace and removes the barriers which previously existed with regard to making the Rogue Valley a true communications hub and future model for facilitating local economic growth and global commerce.
