Soil & Material Testing offers a wide range of in-house laboratory testing services for soils, rock and construction materials using the guidelines prescribed by ASTM, AASHTO, AWWA, FAA and Army Corps of Engineers specifications. Among the more sophisticated equipment utilized by Soil & Material Testing is the triaxial testing apparatus which facilitates rapid determination of hydraulic conductivity (permeability) of saturated porous materials using back pressure. Following the Army Corps of Engineers standards and ASTM D 5084-90, tests can be made on remolded specimens, undisturbed tube specimens or others from 1.4", 2.8" and 4.0" diameters. The triaxial load frame is equipped with a 2500 pound digital-type load cell for testing compressive strength of soil including: unconfined compression, unconsolidated undrained, consolidated undrained and consolidated drained.
