Cherry Valley Organics is a certified organic producer of specialty greens, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, located in Cherry Valley, Washington County, Pennsylvania (approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Pittsburgh). Our specialty greens include our signature salad mix blends as well as baby greens of mustards, arugula, amaranth, pac choi, tatsoi, and spinach, which are grown in our high tunnels and fields. In addition, our herb market is a growing segment of our business, and includes over 100 varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs, available fresh or dried. We are seeking an Assistant Grower to assist with this facet of our operation. Responsibilities include the planting, maintaining, harvesting, handling, and packaging of greens and herbs for sale to subscribers, restaurants, and specialty food stores, and at farmers' markets, as well as the drying and packaging of herbs, herbal teas, and seasoning mixes for retail sale. This is a 30-hour-per-week, seasonal, hourly position that runs from early March until late November. A minimum of 2 seasons of organic vegetable production or similar horticultural experience is required. The hourly rate will be based upon the level of experience.
