We offer our students a vibrant learning environment distinguished by small class size, an ideal and effective teacher to student ratio, an atmosphere of warmth, and a love for learning. Our talented administrative team provides our faculty with inspiring and engaging staff development opportunities, curricular materials and methodologies. The faculty, in turn, encourages their students to think critically and creatively, in a constant dialogue that balances respect for tradition with intellectual openness. Hannah Senesh students develop the skills and attitudes that enable them to be responsible American citizens and leaders. At the same time, we nurture a strong connection with and support for the State of Israel and its people. From Kindergarten on, our students are immersed in a multi-faceted program featuring literature, the arts, mathematics, science, Hebrew language, Jewish texts, tefila (prayer) and derech eretz (a focus on ethical behavior). Our educators conduct a careful, skilled assessment of each student's individual learning style and engage students as active participants in their own education. We encourage on-going dialogue with our students' families, who both contribute through and benefit from their involvement as members of our community of learners. With our impending move to a spacious, well-designed and well-equipped new facility, with 18 classrooms, library, fully-equipped science lab, beit midrash (study center), large gymnasium, art and music rooms, playground, cafeteria and kitchen, Hannah Senesh will take the next step in expanding our joyful community of learners and educators. This facility will also strengthen our capacity to serve as a hub for progressive Jewish educational, social and cultural life for Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan.
