Artana was founded and hosted its first exhibition in June 2000, in Saxonville, a historic district in Framingham (MetroWest). Artana relocated to its new location at 1378 Beacon Street, Coolidge Corner, in Brookline, MA in October, 2003. Artana's mission is to promote and publicize leading contemporary artists and educate the public on the "art" of art collecting. Artana hosts monthly exhibitions and offers a select and growing collection of original art, with a focus on collectable work created by accomplished New England artists. The character of the gallery is professional, friendly, educational and is focused on customer service. It prides itself on offering art with merits worth collecting at an excellent value. Its clientele ranges from first-time art buyers to private seasoned collectors to leading Massachusetts corporate collectors. The gallery represents over 30 artists from various regions across New England, as well as noted invitational talent from abroad. The gallery is highly selective about the quality of art being shown. The gallery's artists are mid-career to established in their career paths and most have earned significant achievement awards and honorary membership stature from organizations such as: Duxbury Art Complex Museum (Duxbury), Worcester Art Museum, The Fogg Art Museum (Cambridge), The De Cordova Museum (Lincoln), Danforth Museum of Art (Framingham), The Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), Fuller Craft Museum (Brockton), and numerous prestigious art associations including The Boston Copley Society, Boston, MA and National League of American Pen Women (Arts), Washington, D.C.
