Dark Corner Software is hiring the following position:Sr. Java DeveloperDark Corner Software is seeking senior developers to develop new and existing open source and custom software products. We deploy complex software to challenging field environments, and require skilled developers to work with clients to assess requirements and create the software to meet those requirements. Current projects include developing custom networking protocols to work over tactical networks (MANETs), qualitative assessment of such networks using our in-house developed tools, expanding that tool base, and developing new end user software to work over such networks. We are an almost pure telecommuting company, and require self-motivated developers who are experienced at interacting remotely with users and with other developers using issue tracking, wikis, and other technologies. Evidence of operating independently and effective production in that environment is a strong asset to a potential candidate. Senior Developers work on advanced projects. They work with clients to assess requirements and verify that the requirements have been met. Senior developers must have a BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience developing software, with an emphasis on leading teams and mentoring other developers. Candidates must have strong knowledge of Java language development (J2SE, Swing, Multithreaded), C/C++ development, and networking. JMX, JNI, Hibernate, statistical software, and SQL experience are desired but not required. More than any specific technology, we are looking for developers with a broad background and a track record of learning new technologies and techniques. All developers travel to client locations to support deployment of products in a fielded environment. All candidates MUST qualify for a US government security clearance (secret), and therefore MUST be a US citizen. The position is full time. Compensation is competitive or better based on experience.
