Info
Rogue Wave® Software has been serving the needs of the developer community for almost two decades with products ranging from GUI development components to C++ libraries and infrastructure for high performance business applications. Here are some highlights from our history:Product EvolutionRogue Wave Software was founded by Dr. Tom Keffer in 1989. Originally a faculty member of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Dr. Keffer's love of the ocean and sailing inspired him to name the company after his sailboat, Rogue Wave. The company's first product was based on a University of Washington project, the Data Analysis and Interactive Modeling System (DAIMS). This project was the first attempt at processing large numerical problems in C++. The DAIMS project was completed in 1987 by Dr. Keffer and Bruce Eckel and was later revised into a vector and matrix library. In 1989, the commercial implementation of the DAIMS product became available under the name Math.h++. Building on this first offering and recognizing the lack of general class libraries included in compilers, Rogue Wave Software introduced Tools.h++ in 1990 as the answer for a general data structure library for C++. The Math.h++ and Tools.h++ products, now part of the SourcePro® C++ product suite, have gained world-wide recognition and popularity as a result of their extreme efficiency and performance. Our deep expertise in C++, one of the most commonly-used, robust, and dependable languages for enterprise application development, has laid a solid path to continue delivering unmatched business solutions. From C++ and cross-platform to Web services, SOA, and concurrent computing, Rogue Wave Software delivers the development components that propel businesses forward.
