"Leading catastrophe insurance underwriter" carries the following meanings:ICAT will carve out niches, defined on a state-by-state basis, which produce desired expected annual loss ratios, PML:Premium ratios, acceptable "top-of-the-curve" exposures, and minimum concentrations of risk year-in and year-out. ICAT will be an opportunistic underwriter. We will take advantage of market cycles and find ways to achieve success (e.g., enter product lines outside our core niche product lines) when market conditions dictate such activity is "smart". ICAT will be the best and most professional underwriter in the catastrophe insurance market with "best" and "professional" defined by:Our execution in selecting individual risks.Our execution in the pricing of our business to produce a profit. Our ability to measure the quality of our book and monitor our exposure to loss. Our ability to respond quickly and decisively to emerging issues/problems, and opportunities. ICAT will deliver outstanding service to our producers and policyholders. We will utilize the Internet to the greatest extent possible to deliver these services. Our claims capability and service will reflect these "best service" standards, including turnaround time with our claimants and efficiency in settling claims. ICAT aspires to be the largest (defined by premium) catastrophe insurance underwriter in the United States. This goal will not, however, be viewed or used as a reason to compromise any of the preceding four goals: "Quality" of our business will always take priority over "quantity". Simply put, ICAT will be a disciplined, nimble and service-oriented underwriting company executing at exceptional levels of efficiency.
