InterMedia Solutions GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Vaterstetten near Munich, Germany in March 1999. The goal of the start-up is to develop and market complete packages for video on the Internet based on the "parallel streaming" technology. Using parallel streaming, single frames, graphics, and text information can be posted on a single web page automatically at the same time as video. InterMedia has recognized the potential of this technology as the basis for the widespread use of video information on the Internet. Development of the software packages i-CONTROL and LiVE-CONTROL lets TV stations, organizations and agencies publish their own news, product information, or entertainment offerings as compact, multimedia presentations on their own homepages - without visitors to the web site having to have sophisticated hardware or software.
