Symfo was founded by Bruno Pornel, a gynecologist based in Brussels, and me. Bruno had been conducting clinical trials in menopause for years when he had the idea for making patient diaries electronic because he saw the problems that paper created in his clinical trials. So, he invented a device that allowed women enrolled in his trials to record electronically three or four symptoms rapidly. We started the company to expand that offering to different therapeutic areas. We created the company in Europe first and then in the U.S. a couple of years later.
