GWI was founded in 2000 as a result of a management buy-out by Daniel Boisvert, President, and Joseph Sullivan, Chief Operating Officer, of a predecessor company. The founding premise of the company was to provide our producers (brokers, agents and TPA's), with a market that can provide creative risk solutions and unsurpassed service. We have brought together a team of experienced underwriters, marketers and customer service individuals that, we believe, exceed the qualifications of our competitors. In order to provide the creativity necessary to satisfy the complex needs of our clients, GWI utilizes an international network of insurers and re-insurers. We understand that not all risks fit the same model and our various re-insurer/carrier relationships allow us to tailor coverage for the individual risk. GWI recognizes that technology is a key component to providing the level of service that our clients require and that we demand. GWI is committed to continually improving our system capabilities and investing in new technologies. GWI implemented a comprehensive system upgrade in September 2001. We achieved our initial corporate goal of a paperless work environment during 2003. GWI will continue to work with our producers to determine present and future technological needs and implementing these quickly and effectively. The GWI model is different from the traditional mono-line MGU model. GWI strongly believes that our diversification of products and revenue make us a stronger company. GWI is able to provide comprehensive solutions to our producers and their policyholders, from covering difficult exposures such as war risk for employees working in Iraq and the Middle East to providing an effective transplant network to our medical clients in the USA.
