Cimetrics was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. In total, the Company has 50+ employees, including over 25 software engineers. Initially focused on embedded networking technologies, in which it gained substantial experience in general computer networking products and Machine-to-Machine networking, the Company began focusing on its Infometrics strategy in 2002. Cimetrics has a corporate history of developing technologies targeted at embedded networking. Since 1989, Cimetrics' initial 9-bit Solution µLAN embedded networks have been used to connect thousands of pervasive networking (Machine to Machine) devices including: NCR point of sale terminals, Beckman Instruments blood analysis machines, Boeing Cabin Management Services (in-flight entertainment) testing (777), Alliance Laundry Systems (Speedqueen) commercial laundry equipment, etc. Cimetrics has been a pioneer in open system communication for building automation for 12 years. By developing and promoting BACnet (ASHRAE/ANSI 135; ISO 16464), the world standard building automation protocol, Cimetrics has established itself as the premiere supplier of communication technology to the building automation industry. Cimetrics BACnet software protocol stacks provide the underlying open communication technology to a majority of building automation systems manufacturers in the world. Cimetrics BACnet Protocol Analyzer is the industry standard test tool for the development of BACnet products. Cimetrics BACnet routers have been used to transport critical building automation data over the Internet since 1996 and have found application in wide area integration and telecommunications.
