Since 1997, Blue Object Software, LLC (formerly iSoft) has been providing software engineering software solutions and custom internet web site development for clients in the Connecticut and New England area. I have over fifteen years of experience as well as a BS and MS degree in Computer Science. Trained to model the real world and to design systems around components of highly cohesive and loosely-coupled sub-components, Blue Object Software has been able to tackle even the most complex challenges. Before turning our moonlighting work into a sole proprietorship (iSoft) in 1997and working side by side with a close friend, I have been exposed to several sizes of projects and had the opportunity to work for both small start-ups as well as large financial services organizations and manufacturing. I cheer Microsoft's .NET framework but I also realize that these tools are no silver bullet. I realize that these tools are essential in building the next step in the software evolutionary chain - without tools like .NET and J2EE it would take forever to get a service into production. With the age if the internet, I saw new opportunities to extend the same excellence and product focus to companies seeking a web presence or custom development projects. Since then, I have increased my exposure to several areas in the industry while focusing on the technologies that I know and trust. I have been through the pains of 16-bit Windows and 16-bit compiler tools. I have been through the pains of the early days of MDAC, ODBC and ADO and case tools and database tools promising to migrate your data from Oracle to SQL Server and back. I have been through the pains of ASP with VBScript and HTML interwoven together like spaghetti-code. I have seen the weaknesses in VB 5 and 6 and the lack of having good exception handling strategies and testing methodologies. I have been through and to some extent, still living with .DLL-hell. With all the pain comes experience and wisdom if you can call it that. I bring that wealth of our experience to my clients. I believe I possess a solid foundation and great philosophy of software development. I believe in keeping solutions simple because, after-all, building software can be a very daunting and complex task. I listen to clients and provide them with simple and elegant solutions.
