Camelid Veterinary Services specializes in camelid reproduction, featuring complete reproductive exams and care for llamas and alpacas. With the combined experience in the camelid reproductive field of Dr. Walter (20 years) and Dr. Cheryl (4 years with Dr. Toni Cotton) the animals are assured the best opportunity to be productive dams and sires. A Breeding Soundness Exam (BSE) for a female can include ultrasound, hormone analysis, unterine culture, and catheter for antibiotic treatment of endometritus, etc. BSE's on males are also available, including ultrasound and semen evaluation. CVS treats and manages many cases of sub-fertile male and female alpacas, and as well as monitoring for optimum breeding schedules. Dr. Walter will also advise the alpacas on which direction to face when breeding (ie. towards the sun, full moon, facing the wind, etc) to increase the chance of conception.... don't we wish!
