Though Pearson generates approximately 60% of its sales in North America, it operates in more than 60 countries. The Company consists of three worldwide businesses: Pearson Education, The Financial Times Group and The Penguin Group. In August 2008, the Company announced the acquisition of an additional 22% stake in Longman Nigeria, taking its ownership to a controlling 51% stake. Longman Nigeria is an educational publisher in Nigeria. In June 2009, Pearson and Educomp Solutions established a 50:50 joint venture to offer vocational and skills training in India.
