Located near Blackfoot, Idaho, Bindweed Farm primarily sells cuts to designers in the resort areas of Sun Valley, Idaho and Jackson, Wyoming, as well as to florists in Southeast Idaho from mid-March to late September. Bindweed's product includes nearly ninety different cultivars, from French tulips in mid-March to woodies like snowberry and coralberry in late September. Seven thousand square feet under protective plastic provides room for an extended season in Idaho's short, 120 day growing window, and five acres outdoors gives ample area for Bindweed's diverse offerings. The Farm's product includes traditional flowers like sunflowers, larkspur, snapdragons, sweet peas and tulips, but also the more exotic tweedia, asclepias, bells of Ireland, atriplex and chasmanthium. Bindweed also sells grasses, pods, branches and foliage. For an availability list with pricing, click here Bindweed Farm was given a grant in 2002 for the study of Nonhardy Bulb Production in Hoophouses in Northern Climates. In 2006, the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers provided Bindweed with a grant to test 250 roses for fragrance, hardiness, cutting quality and marketability. Twenty five specimens of ten different varieties will be planted in late April to get the project underway.
