Founded in 1994, Insitu, Inc. is a pioneer developer of long-range, unmanned, autonomous aircraft. To measure in situ means to measure in place, and is frequently used in environmental resource monitoring. Today, Insitu continues to develop innovative unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), unmanned aircraft (UA), ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) tools, communications relay technology, and meteorology and geophysical measurement tools for both commercial and military purposes. Practical applications of the technology include military reconnaissance, the creation of internet networks in remote areas, border patrol, coastal monitoring, anti-sniper systems, environmental monitoring, search and rescue, and disaster relief. Insitu prides itself on maintaining the agility and innovative problem-solving that have marked its short, but brilliant, history even as it grows to a 200+ employee, multi-facility operation.
