Yellowstone Club was founded in 2000 by Tim and Edra Blixsethâ€"although early on, the club wasn't going to be a club at allâ€"Tim and Edra first imagined this very special place in the Montana wilderness as a quiet family retreat. Tim, founder of a successful forest products company, saw an opportunity for a win-win land swap with the US Forest Service, trading sensitive land adjacent to the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem for fewer acres of more accessible property near the town of Big Sky. It seemed to Tim and Edra to be the perfect family hideaway. As the Blixseths began to formulate their plans, close friends thought their idea of a private mountain getaway was something they'd love to be a part of too, and momentum began to build. Soon enough their common vision was that of an exclusive community, offering skiing on a larger scale than had ever been experienced on a private basis. It seemed obvious to the Blixseths that there was a need for a place like this. Today, Yellowstone Club is busy growing that visionâ€"transforming ski lifts, fairways, rustic lodges, inspiring homes, and several hundred like-minded club members into one vibrant community. When members or their friends would like to experience Yellowstone Club's one-of-a-kind hospitality, the Guest Cabins are the perfect home away from home. Each of the twenty custom-designed and individually-furnished log cabins is perched mid-mountain, and offers ski-in, ski-out access. Inside, each cabin has every amenity, including a king bed with luxurious down comforter, full bath, loft, fireplace, TV/VCR, stereo, and views of the majestic Spanish Peaks. Rainbow Lodge is a short walk, offering gourmet breakfast and dinner, soaking in the hot tub, or socializing with friends at the full-service bar.
