In January 2006, the Company received marketing approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for its first product AMITIZA (lubiprostone), for the treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation in adults. In February 2008, the Company submitted a marketing authorization application (MAA) for lubiprostone, 24 micrograms, for the indication of chronic idiopathic constipation in adults in the United Kingdom. The Company’s additional compounds in development include cobiprostone and SPI-017.
