Rubissow-Sargent produces handmade, elegant, single-vineyard artisan red wines. Each is an authentic expression of Napa Valley's rugged Mt. Veeder Appellation AVA. Only classic Bordeaux style wines are made - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Trompettes, our proprietary Cabernet Franc blend. RS wines have refreshing acidity and balanced fruit flavors - to complement fine cuisine, rather than overpower it. Because the grapes for every wine we make are sourced exclusively from our Mount Veeder estate - there is a consistent mountain character in the flavors and aromas of each vintage. This sense of unique local flavor - of terroir - is the basis for many of the great wines of the world, and is a tradition we actively seek to preserve and celebrate with each new vintage. As a result, there are subtle variations in texture and substance from year to year - the product of the particular year's unique weather and growing conditions. It is our feeling that terroir is what makes great wine truly interesting.
