Hesters Resort & Marina offers a small, friendly vacation setting on the edge of beautiful Kentucky Lake. We are located on a protected point surrounded by water on three sides just off the main lake. There are eleven rental units all within one hundred yards of the water. Hesters is a great place to bring your family and friends to boat, fish or just relax. Families and fisherman have been returning for decades. Our full service marina offers bait, tackle, fishing licenses, gas, oil, ice, and snack items. We have a ramp for launching your boat and covered boat slips with electricity. For your boating pleasure, we offer 14' John boats with 9.9 HP motors and a pontoon boat with a 40 HP motor. Rental of our John boats is $50 per day or $300 per week. Our pontoon boat rents for $150 a day or $95 for 4 hours. Our six cottages are rustic fishing cabins with knotty pine paneled walls, tile floors and clean homey atmospheres. All eleven units include a full kitchen with stove and refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and toaster. Cooking pans, utensils, dishes, linens and towels are furnished. Each unit is air conditioned and equipped with cable television. Each unit also provides for outdoor barbecuing and picnicking. If you are planning a family reunion or bringing a large group to Hesters, you will want to consider including apartment #7 in your reservation since this unit offers a new 16 x 40 foot deck with three picnic tables for group meals and gatherings. We assumed ownership of Hesters in December of 2005 and have been making improvements to ensure that our resort provides an excellent vacation option at affordable rates. Returning guests during the 2006 season were very complimentary of the improvements we had made and the improvements are continuing. Our project for the 2007 season is the upgrading of the cottage bathrooms. On Hesters' grounds you will find a basketball court, playground area for children and a small sandy beach with a swimming dock. Area attractions within a 30 minute drive include go-carts, antique malls, restaurants, shopping malls, a water park, a small amusement park, several golf courses, nature trails and horse back riding. Many of our guests bring their boats to Hesters. One boat slip is guaranteed for each unit reserved. Additional boats will be accommodated upon availability of boat slips. Daily rental of boat slips is $10. . Hesters sponsors an annual fishing contest. The contest pays $400 to the guest that catches the largest bass and $400 to the guest that catches the largest crappie. Winning the fishing contest could pay for your Kentucky Lake vacation.
