At Career Management Resources we provide the assistance people need to make that difficult transition. In our "professional programs" we work with people until they get the job they want, typically spending 30-60 hours with each client. In our "mini programs" we pack a lot of job finding assistance into 5-15 hours of individual counseling. We are totally dedicated to meeting the needs of the individual. We give them our full attention and energy. We also have the knowledge and resources to get them back on the job quickly. Our job finding materials are state-of-the-art and we quickly give clients the confidence to go out and land that next job. We provide services primarily in two ways: working one-on-one with clients and through seminars. Typically when one person is being terminated, we will work with that person individually. If several people are being laid off we can keep costs down by providing a combination of seminars and one-on-one assistance. We keep our seminars interesting and fast-paced. We keep participants involved and active. Working one-on-one with a person is critical to their success. Each person has special needs and issues which can only be addressed individually. An effective job search is a complex undertaking, and most people have never carried it out in a truly systematic manner. When we meet a person, our first challenge is to rebuild their self-esteem and get them focused. We begin by having people review their past accomplishments. It is a powerful exercise and has a profound impact on people. Not only do people increase their self-esteem, but they often get a new sense of direction. The use of accomplishments also helps them create a truly effective resume and interview more effectively. Only when a renewed level of self-esteem is achieved, can the person make effective career decisions. For some, losing a job is a great opportunity to consider a career shift. We enable people to decide whether to seek a new field, and if so, what it should be. Once a high-impact resume is completed, we move on to producing a complete list of potential employers, developing a job finding strategy, and practicing interviewing. When all of these tools and resources have been put together, we stick with the person throughout the job search. There are so many questions and issues that arise during a job search, that it is critical that we be available for each person. Many clients have said in the past that what they most valued was that we were always available for a personal session or a phone call. In those sessions we discuss how an interview went, we look for ways to improve their job finding techniques, and we prepare people for negotiating salaries. We make sure they do the big things right, and we make sure they do the small things right. Our clients get jobs faster in part because they put more effort into their job search. Career Management Resources is a local firm. I started Career Management Resources in 1980 with Gary Kanter joining in 1988. We know the Puget Sound job market and we know what job finding strategies work here. Whether you represent a Fortune 500 firm or a small- or medium-sized firm we can meet your specific needs. We're flexible and can provide highly useful services for even the tightest budget. Give us a call.
