H Power Corp. designs, develops, manufactures and sells proton-exchange membrane fuel cell power sources. Its goal is to be an international provider of hydrogen-based and fossil fuel-based fuel cell power sources to both premium power users and original equipment manufacturers. In the fiscal year ended May 31, 2002, the Company completed and launched the pre-commercial version of the EPAC500, a 500-watt fuel cell-based power source, which can be used for primary or back-up power for a wide variety of industrial applications. During fiscal 2002, the Company also continued the development of its residential co-generation units, which provide up to 4.5 kilowatts of continuous electrical power and up to six kilowatts of heat. In addition, H Power is developing a 500-watt cogeneration fuel cell system, using Osaka Gas Co., Ltd.'s proprietary compact steam reformer, for residential applications in Japan.
