Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra
Info
The Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra was formed during 1997 and presented its inaugural concert on October 2, 1997 in collaboration with the 25th anniversary of UC Clermont College. Clermont College, the cultural center of Clermont County, is the home of the orchestra for rehearsals and concert hall performances. The CPO orchestra and chamber players have performed many concerts at local schools and other social institutions. The CPO Pops has performed numerous outdoor summer concerts at various parks throughout Clermont County. Performances have included such international musical stars as Sandra Rivers, piano, Pip Clarke, violin, John Hendrickson, piano and Alex DePue, the fiddler. The CPO has combined with the West Clermont Schools Strings Orchestras in several performances. The CPO League was formed in 2002 and currently has around 20 members. This is an all-volunteer group, which assists the Orchestra with many necessary functions including publicity, mailings, and assistance with logistics at concerts. The CPO League encourages additional membership.
