Sylvan Education Solutions is committed to improving the performances of students, teachers and workers by partnering with school districts and communities across the country. We've helped more than 100,000 learners increase their skills, reach new heights of achievement and accomplish goals that may have seemed unattainable because of a lack of resources. We first partnered as Sylvan at SchoolSM with Baltimore City Public Schools in 1993. The educational community presented two challenges to Sylvan - to make the services of retail Sylvan Learning CentersTM accessible to students of lower-income families and to guide the lowest-performing students toward better grades and confidence in Reading and Math. Sylvan accepted the challenge and has since delivered results for students in nearly 200 school districts. Realizing that student success begins with teacher success, and drawing upon decades of expertise in training Sylvan instructors, Sylvan Teachers Institute was created to provide professional development solutions for today's teachers. In addition, we applied our mastery learning approach to adult workforce education. Through Sylvan Career Starters, more than 3,000 youth and adults have rediscovered their potential. Although our name has changed and our services now include educational programs for teachers and adults, our focus remains. From our corporate office in Baltimore, Maryland to centers in schools and communities across the country, we are helping to improve performance - one learner at a time.
