Info

The Baltimore Maritime Museum (www.baltomaritimemuseum.org) is a non profit organization that provides hands-on learning programs in challenging environments and is seeking motivated applicants for educator positions. An educator works with the museum's overnight programs to give tours of the museum's ships and lighthouse, teach learning stations and demonstrate to students what life would have been like aboard the different sites of the museum. The sites of the museum include the USCG Cutter Taney, last surviving warship still a float from the attack on Pearl Harbor, The US Submarine Torsk which sank the last Japanese warship in WWII, Lightship #116 "Chesapeake" which safely guided ships in Baltimore's harbor for over 30 years, and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse which is the last surviving example of a screw-pile lighthouse. This position is ideal for collage students and retired individuals with an interest in history and who like working in unique and interesting environments. No prior knowledge of the museum sites is needed, just a willingness to learn.
