The Avon Public Library provides current, popular materials, and an extensive circulating collection covering a wide variety of topics, in print, non-print, and electronic formats, in sufficient number to meet demand. The collection is accessible and organized to encourage public browsing in an environment that is conducive to both formal and independent learning. Special programs and materials support and promote basic literacy, curriculum objectives, general information, and lifelong learning needs. They are enhanced by computers with reference databases and Internet access (available in house and remotely) giving patrons further access for their informational, educational, cultural and recreational pursuits. The Board of Library Trustees supports and endorses "The Library Bill of Rights" of the American Library Association, and also its "Freedom to Read" and "Freedom to View" statements.
