Description of Aging and Disability Service Department
The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) provides long-term services and supports to people with physical disabilities, people with mental retardation (intellectual/cognitive disabilities) and related conditions, and people who are 60 years old and older who are eligible for services under the Older Americans Act. DADS also regulates providers of long-term services and supports, and administers the state’s guardianship program.
