Spirometrics develops, manufactures and distributes pulmonary diagnostic equipment and accessories. These devices include spirometers that measure forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), and the derivative flow rates such as mid maximal expiratory flow rate (MMEFR, FEF25-75) and peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR). Spirometry is used in the diagnosis and management of diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchitis and emphysema. Spirometrics also manufactures a complete line of accessories including viral/bacterial filters and calibration syringes. All of Spirometrics' devices meet or exceed the performance criteria established by the American Thoracic Society (ATS).
