VEF Advisors, LLC is a privately-held real estate investment and management company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia with regional offices in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Diego, and San Francisco. The firm is focused on acquiring and managing real estate assets in major markets throughout the United States on behalf of institutional and private investors. The firm is a "value-added" real estate investment and operating company designed to enhance value through re-leasing opportunities, creative renovations and property repositioning, and monitoring market cycles with particular focus on risk/reward relationships. VEF Advisors has a long history of investing for institutional clients. The principals of the firm started the VEF Series in 1993 with Value Enhancement Fund I, as part of Equitable Real Estate Investment Management. The Group was later sold to Lend Lease in 1997, as part of a larger transaction. In 2003, Lend Lease made a strategic decision to no longer operate in the United States real estate advisory market and sold its operations to various parties. As a result of this decision, VEF Advisors was formed in early 2004 with financial participation from principals of Apollo Real Estate Advisors. VEF Advisors has invested over $3 billion in value-added real estate including office, industrial, retail, residential, and hotel properties, throughout the United States. Portfolio assets have won awards such as: BOMA's award for the best new office development in Chicago for One North Wacker and the best new spa in North America and the Caribbean by Conde Naste, received for Bishop's Lodge in Sante Fe, New Mexico. VEF Advisors has sponsored and managed six funds since 1993, with cumulative realized returns of 23% as of September 30, 2005.
