Terri Theisen has more than twenty-five years of executive leadership and organizational development experience. She is a consultant to several hundred organizations, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, the University of Missouri Community Issues Management Project, Georgia State University's College of Health & Human Sciences, the University of Georgia System Board of Regents, the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, United Way of Metro Atlanta, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, and the Georgia Center for Non Profits. Ms. Theisen is a sought-after keynote speaker, trainer, and facilitator of planning sessions, meetings, and retreats. She has been a keynote speaker for the Georgia Rural Health Conference and for CoreNet (Leadership in Challenging Times) and has conducted training for many organizations, including the Georgia Society of CPAs (Financial Accountability for Boards), the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University (Board Governance), Atlanta Women's Foundation (Women on Board Leadership Series), Georgia Center for Non Profits (Managing the Workplace, Creating High Performance Teams, Board Governance, Effective Boards, Succession Planning, Negotiation Skills, Effective Presentations), and the Community Leadership Association of America (The Competitive Advantage of an Engaged Board of Directors). She has been a guest columnist for Business to Business magazine, and has been interviewed by publications including Atlanta Woman and The Association Book. Ms. Theisen is currently serving on the board of directors of Visiting Nurse Health System/Hospice Atlanta, United Way's Women of Alexis de Tocqueville Cabinet, and the Annual Fund Committee of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She is a past chair of the board of directors of Hands On Atlanta, and a past member of the board of directors of The Lady Bird Johnson Center in Austin, Texas. She also serves on the advisory board of the Fund for Theological Education. Ms. Theisen is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta (2007) and the Coca-Cola Diversity Leadership Academy (2005). Prior to founding Theisen Consulting LLC in November 2001, Ms. Theisen served as a Vice President of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, responsible for the overall profit and loss management of an eight-state region, providing leadership and direct management to 20 chapters of the organization. Her division generated more than $20 million annually for the organization, implemented and evaluated innovative programs for those with type I diabetes and their families, and developed enhancements to the organization's overall business operation. For the American Cancer Society, Southeast Division, Ms. Theisen served as Senior Vice President, overseeing all business development and relationship management activity in 26 offices. This included oversight of key relationship management (CRM) strategies for a $40 million, three-state division. During her 14-year tenure with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ms. Theisen was CEO of the Georgia Chapter, served as a member of the national management team, and served as a consultant to chapters in the organization in management, board development, planning, fund raising, and advocacy. Ms. Theisen was named Rotarian of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2003 for generating public awareness for the Rotary Club of Dunwoody, where she has been an active member since 1993. In 2004, Ms. Theisen received an award from Rotary International for "achieving outstanding public relations." Past community leadership includes serving as a board member of the Southern Regional Council, St. Jude's Catholic Church, the Atlanta Regional Health Forum, the American Liver Foundation, and the National Psoriasis Foundation. Ms. Theisen is a member of many professional and civic organizations, including the Institute of Management Consultants, American Public Health Association, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, American Society of Association Executives, Organization Change Alliance, the Alliance for Non Profit Management, and the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy.
