RMI has provided services to the North American Rail Industry since 1979. In this time, RMI has experienced tremendous growth, becoming the largest independent provider of information technology to the railroad industry in North America. Railroads from the Gulf of Alaska to the Yucatan Peninsula now utilize RMI systems to control their daily operations, provide accounting control, and improve customer service. In addition, rail shippers are taking advantage of RMI"s services to manage their shipments, improve fleet utilization, and control inventory flow. RMI"s services are branded as RailConnect® and ShipperConnect and are delivered via the Internet and other high-speed connections. The RailConnect® and ShipperConnect suites of services are modular and transaction-based, making them robust enough to run the largest regional railroad, yet flexible and affordable enough for the smallest short line. RailConnect® and ShipperConnect run from two secure data centers in Atlanta, Georgia, and all systems are "mirrored" for disaster recovery and business continuity. Today, RMI has over 500 customers using one or more components of RailConnect® or ShipperConnect, including over 270 railroads that utilize RailConnect® to run their day-to-day operations. In aggregate, this represents over 7 million annual carloads managed by RMI systems.
