Since 1994, NAESM's Department of Client Services has provided socioecomomic services to people with HIV/AIDS. Services now available at NAESM include:Long Term Transitional Housing: Gerald's HouseGerald's House, formerly AESM House, opened its doors in 1994 with the objective being to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for men living with HIV/AIDS who were homeless or marginally housed until they were able to locate and be placed into permanent, affordable, and appropriate housing. Residents of Gerald's House will receive counseling, case management services, nutritional counseling, peer support, and assistance in locating and placement into permanent housing. Since 1994, more than 200 men have resided at Gerald's House. Gerald Anthony Ludd served as a board member and treasurer of NAESM. He was awarded the Life Time Award for Excellence in support of HIV/AIDS Awareness in 1996.
