BlaCon Media LLC, is a concept that is over 20 years old but only came to fruition on March 1, 2002. Although meetings and concepts were discussed during the previous year the March 1st date became our official company launch date. The vision for BlaCon was presented to me after stints with CNN, Headline News, TBS, FOX WTTG, CBS KMOV, The GORE-LIEBERMAN campaign, Visual Connections and CONUS Communications. It became apparent that I was obtaining experience and developing contacts. However, it was also apparent that the owners of the aforementioned companies were enjoying financial exponential growth, while I was only experiencing growth. Through prayer and research I became extremely interested in the possibility of developing a company that would allow my partners and me this same freedom. Having briefly worked for a firm that was a multi-media business, specializing in litigation production, I was introduced to the world of legal video. While attending seminars and pursuing industry related certifications, I learned that few of the technicians had broadcast engineering backgrounds. This was a great realization. A company could be developed that could take the untapped legal field and meld it with a company that utilized digital technologies and at the same time could function as a traditional video production company. I also had an interest in owning my own satellite truck and satellite transponder. My CFO, who I will speak about later, always uses the term "begin with the end in mind". "Lo", BlaCon Media was born. We have evolved from a multi-media litigation network focusing on the legal community, to a broadcast engineering and distribution firm where we produce live events via satellite and the internet. Harold Blake, Jr. is CFO of BlaCon Media. Harold and I have known each other over 25 years. The company name "BlaCon" is derived from the Harold's and my last names. In the 70's we knew that a business relationship could prove fruitful to both of us. However, due to geography, family and life circumstances, the timing never appeared to be right. When I presented the "BlaCon" concept to Harold, he was able to see and feel the vision. Shortly thereafter, Felton Fedrick, a longtime friend of Harold's, was introduced and now completes the core membership of the organization. Let me also mention that Mssrs., Alex K. Wood and David P. Stevens, III were major contributors to the company's formation and solid foundation. BlaCon Media, LLC is primed and ready to take the industry by storm. Our first few contracts were with major corporations in the legal, sports and religious fields. Through hard work, grace, prayer, relationships and alliances the concept of exponential growth is quickly becoming a reality. Further, we are proud to announce the recent launch of our newest venture, BlaCon News Service (BNS). The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the parent company, BlaCon Media, LLC and will provide products from news updates to independent film exposures. BNS will provide domestic and international content with a strong focus on diversity.
