Info

CHARLTON BRADSHER AMERICAN ANTIQUES specializes in the purchase and sale of folk art and other material culture from the Southern backcountry. We carry a select line of early American / Southern pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries including vernacular landscapes, portraits, watercolors and drawings, carving and sculpture, textiles, furniture and pottery, with an emphasis on surface and condition. We also offer other services including appraisals, auction representation, and collection consultation, all within our areas of expertise. In business since 1997, Charlton Bradsher has worked hard to gain a reputation as a dealer who handles only quality objects, primarily of Southern origin. Since completion of the Graduate Summer Institute program at the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in 1998, Charlton Bradsher has gone on to work with many of the most significant museums in the South, as well as many of the top private collectors and dealers in the field today. Charlton Bradsher is a member of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts, and the North Carolina Folk Art Society. We advertise frequently in FOLK ART, Magazine of the American Folk Art Museum, Maine Antique Digest, and Antiques and the Arts Weekly. Conveniently located just a few minutes from downtown Asheville, we are open by appointment. Please come and see us. We look forward to your visit. If you own and wish to sell similar examples of American Folk Art, we welcome your calls to discuss the purchase of your artwork.
