Info
Clark Auction Service was started over 50 years ago by Clair Clark. Clair conducted hundreds of farm, real estate & household auctions in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesaota. Clark Auction Service is known for their quality auctions and their personal service to the customer. Their clients are the number one priority. Since Clair's passing in 2003, his son Jerry Clark has taken over the business. Jerry has had a long history with Clark Auction Service and is an acomplished auctioneer himself. His knowledge & experience in farm equipment and antiques makes him the lead auctioneer in the company. Dave Guerdet joined the company as an auctioneer in 2001 and works along side Jerry. Dave comes from a farming background and brings his knowledge of farm equipment and technology to the company. Both Jerry and Dave work extremely well together and they put every effort into bringing the highest dollar for their clients. "We have built a mailing list for each type of auction so we can get the right people to the auction. Having the right buyers at the auctions makes all the difference between a good sale or a tough sale. We are always looking for more ways to bring quality buyers to our auctions. Clark Auction Service uses many publications to advertise for their auctions in including Local Papers, Iowa Farmer Today, Red Power, Antique Trader, Collectors Journal, and many others to draw the most people to their auctions. They also utilize another popular tool, "The Internet". The "Clark Auction website" gets on average 75-100 visits/day and on months that we have high profile auctions we have had over 300 visits/day. Using a combination of magazines like Iowa Farmer Today, Red Power, Colectors Journal & others along with our website, gets us amazing results. The website allows people to see an item and get an idea of its condition and if they live in California they can contact us to leave bids. We have a lot of people that place proxy bids with us. That takes a lot of confidence in us, the auction company. We also conducted a live internet auction a couple of years ago with Proxibid.com. It was very successful and we look forward to doing it again. The internet is growing and we look to take advatage of it for the benefit of our clients.
