Ruth Connell, Architect, AIA, has practiced architecture in Annapolis , Maryland since 1991, and founded Ruth Connell Studio Architects LLC in 2004. Ruth Connell is proud to be a member of the American Institute of Architects, and is licensed to practice architecture in Maryland and Florida. Connell is certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and has design experience with both residential and commercial projects. Connell is currently Associate Professor at Morgan State University's Institute of Architecture and Planning, in Baltimore, Maryland. Connell has taught design, design theory, environmental systems, and both history and historic preservation of architecture. Connell was designated a Senior Fulbright Scholar and taught architecture in Poland for academic year 1997-98. She has served on the National Screening Committee for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, and as an accreditation reviewer for various schools of architecture. Connell is an active member of the American Institute of Architects. Connell is presently a Director on the Board of the Baltimore AIA. Connell has served as President of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter A.I.A., as a Board Member of the Maryland Society of Architects and as Secretary of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of the A.I.A., serving the states of Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Ruth Connell is an accomplished painter, working primarily in oils. Ruth Connell is a member of the Artists' Association of St. John USVI, the Arts Alliance of Annapolis, and the Mid-Atlantic Plein-Air Painters Association.
