The Division of Endocrine Surgery at the University of Michigan, established in 1979, was the first of its kind in the United States. Since that inception, we have advanced our leadership role in the specialty, improving patient care as well as the understanding of the root causes of endocrine cancers, Graves and Cushing's diseases, hyperparathyroidism and pheochromocytoma.
