POLISH CLUB (springfield/ kitchener, ontario) - Polish Club is an improvisational collaboration featuring David Jensenius on electronics and Tom Crean on dobro, vocals, and banjo. The music is the common ground between two friends, which has been described as improvised avant-pop, and improvised avant-garde with a real sense of fun. David and Tom met over the course of their tenure at Wesleyan University in the Masters program in composition where they studied under Alvin Lucier and Anthony Braxton. They became friends over many mutual interests varying from the obvious (music) to the casual (video games) to the eccentric (the 1964 Amphicar 7-70). After years of friendship the prospect of a collaboration was introduced, and Polish Club was born. Polish Club has been featured performers at music series like FFMUP (Princeton University), Uncertainty Music Series (New Haven), Music at the Gallery (Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery), and most recently published the album ppppppppppppppppppppppp.
