Mister Kleen is a full-service cleaning and restoration company serving the DC, Maryland and Virginia metro area since 1976. Our primary focus is providing contract cleaning services to commercial and high-security facilities. We also have a Special Services Division that provides smoke and water restoration services, carpet and upholstery cleaning, complete floor care and other specialty services. Founded by Ernest and Mary Ann Clark from meager beginnings and operating from the family home, the entire family pitched in to clean the first two contracts in the evenings. The company was challenged in 1985 when Ernest Clark, Sr. was diagnosed with a rare brain disease and was forced to retire at the young age of 42. The family struggled to deal with this medical condition, while still running the company. In 1986, Ernest Clark, Jr. graduated high school and immediately stepped in to run the day-to-day operations of the company. He has been involved in the family business since the age of 12 and has worked in all facets of the company. In 1990, he and his sister Dianna decided to develop a Residential Services Division which Dianna ran very successfully and ultimately served several hundred clients for many years. In 2005, that division was sold to allow them to focus on their growing core business of commercial and high-security facilities. Today, the company is led by Ernest Clark, Jr., CBSE (President) and Dianna Clark, RBSM (Vice-President and General Manager). The company has thrived under the management of the second generation. Mister Kleen now employs more than 400 employees, services more than seven million square feet of commercial office space and operates from its headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. They attribute their success to being extremely focused on clients' individual needs. They operate under the philosophy of a "professional, yet personalized service company."
