Something was missing from Capital Region banking. So we decided to do something about it. When we founded Capital Bank in 1995, we did so to fill a void. There were few locally owned and controlled commercial banks headquartered in the Capital Region. Crucial decisions were being made far from our area, by people who knew little about us. Businesses weren't receiving timely, competitive responses to their loan requests. Good service was the exception, not the rule.
