A to Z Tool, Inc was established in 1980 as an Automotive Specialty Tool Business. The owner William E. Shultz, a transmission technician and machinist began designing tools for his automotive repair and transmission shop in the Chicago area in the late 1950's. He has received over 30 U.S. Patents for his time saving devices. Many of the tools he designed required knobs or handles to operate the device. After unsuccessfully searching numerous knob manufactures to find a quality, durable, and comfortable knob, he decided to make his own handles. Soon, People were asking him where the knobs came from, and before long he was making more knobs and handles for other people than he made for is own use. This started a whole new business for Mr. Shultz. He is still designing tools, running the business, and finding more uses for his knobs and handles. Today, A to Z Tool, Inc, manufactures six basic plastic knobs with hundreds of optional features. The company also manufactures cast aluminum, steel, brass, and custom knobs and handles. All of the plastic knobs are made from "Super Tough Nylon" to stand up to tough "real world" conditions - they are virtually indestructible. Producing knobs either male or female with up to ½" diameter threads. Any length studs or special machined ends are also available.
