107.7 THE BONE is among the finalists announced today in the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Crystal Radio Awards competition. Since 1987, the NAB Crystal Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round community service efforts. "We are taking local radio to a whole new level." said BONE General Manager Dwight Walker. We create goodwill for Bay Area communities and through events such as Bone Home Town. Localism is one of the foundations of our brand. It an honor for The BONE to be recognized by the broadcast industry for our efforts." 107.7 THE BONE works with local charities such as The Breast Cancer Fund, Ronald McDonald House, Second Harvest Food Banks and Little Kids Rock to enhance their efforts. In addition, the station's "home town" program has helped towns and cities throughout the Bay Area publicize their communities concerns and needs. NAB Crystal Award finalists will be honored and Crystal Radio Award winners will be announced during the NAB 2005 convention on Tuesday, April 9, in Las Vegas. The finalists were selected by a panel of judges representing broadcasting, community service organizations and public relations firms.
